Printer States Between Jobs

Between printing jobs, the printer can be left in Idle state for up to 10 days. However, if there is a need to shut down the printer, use the Shutdown wizard to automatically perform the procedures that must be done before turning off the printer (see Shutting Down the Printer).

The printer state is indicated in the Home screen.

After 15 minutes in Idle state, heating of the print heads stops.

After 15 minutes of no activity, the interface screen goes blank. To turn the screen on, touch the screen.

The default time until the interface goes blank is 15 minutes. You can change it to any duration from 1 minute to 24 hours in the printer application.
To change the timeout time, navigate to: Tools > Settings > Parameters > System Power > Screen Turn Off Timeout
When the printer is in Idle state, do not turn it off with the power switch. It can remain in this state—with the door closed—for up to 10 days. Turn off the printer by running the Shutdown wizard (see Shutting Down the Printer).
